    Duties and Responsibilities

    As a real estate broker, you will be expected to:

    • Help customers to buy, sell or rent properties at a price they are happy with
    • Bring in new customers through your marketing initiatives
    • Schedule appointments with customers and take them on a tour of properties they are interested in
    • Educate customers about the features and benefits of each property
    • Have up-to-date information about real estate prices in the specific area
    • Be able to answer customer queries regarding the property and its neighborhood
    • Compare similar properties to arrive at competitive market values
    • Promote local real estate properties put up for sale
    • Match the customers’ budget and choices with the appropriate property
    • Assist in the preparation and processing of required documentation like contracts and deeds
    • Comply with given deadlines
    • Avail of MLS websites to keep your information current
    • Maintain your property lists properly and update as and when necessary
    • Support and assist the customer throughout the entire process
    • Strictly adhere to all local, state and federal laws and regulation related to real estate

     Requirements and Qualifications

    To be able to work as a real estate agent, you will need:

    • High school diploma
    • Valid, state approved license to practice real estate
    • Computer literacy and familiarity with Microsoft Suite
    • Knowledge of online real estate systems including MLS sites
    • To be proactive, persevere and pay attention to detail
    • To be able to communicate succinctly and have excellent people skills
    • Time management skills
    • Multi-tasking ability
    • Previous experience in sales or marketing will be an added bonus
